Porch Enclosures in Maryland

When you have an outdoor porch in Maryland, you can only use it for a few months of the year. The weather is often too hot or too cold to sit outside. Consider converting the space to make it usable year-round for an added living space in your home.

Maryland Sunrooms performs porch conversions that can transform your outdoor porch into a sunroom or another style of enclosed porch. We offer a range of options and can match the style of your home to give you a space you will enjoy daily.

Things to Keep in Mind When Enclosing Your Porch

Enclosing your porch offers many benefits. You can add value to your home by getting a porch enclosure. Potential buyers will appreciate the bonus room, which can drive up the price they’re willing to pay and help your house sell faster. Other things to think about as you consider a porch enclosure include:

  • Additional entertainment space: You can entertain year-round on an enclosed porch, giving you more room to host guests.
  • Outstanding curb appeal: Our porch enclosures look attractive and enhance the appearance of your home.
  • Lasting materials: We use flex vinyl glazing, or Flexiglaze, for our windows. This durable material stands up in rugged weather conditions and bumps or hits.
  • Simple cleaning process: You can quickly snap out our sliders to clean them and snap them back in with ease.

Our process includes hand-building custom vinyl windows and doors that turn your outdoor space into an indoor one. We tailor them to any area, and you can pick from a range of colors.

Types of Porch Enclosures

Explore your porch enclosure options before settling on your final pick. Your choice may depend on the appearance of your home, what you want to use your new porch enclosure for and your budget. Your options include:

  • Screen rooms: Screen rooms are screened-in porches that keep out bugs and protect you from the sun’s rays. You can use this type of enclosure when it’s warm outside, but it won’t provide any warmth in the winter. You can upgrade to a three-season room later with this upgrade.
  • Sunrooms: When you convert a porch into a sunroom, you get a room that receives sun year-round. Also referred to as solariums, these rooms usually have sliding or French door entry from the inside. They stay warm because of the sun’s rays. If the rooms square footage is large enough, it may requires additional heating or cooling elements just like the rest of your home.
  • Three-season rooms: Three-season rooms are enclosed with windows and doors and receive sun year-round. They do not include a heating or cooling element, so the temperature varies depending on the weather outside. You can adjust the airflow by opening and closing the windows. Or adding a fan.
  • Four-season rooms: Four-season rooms are similar to three-season rooms, but they have insulated walls, high functioning temperature-resistant glass, and a heating or cooling element that keeps the room temperate year-round.
